Four K-beauty brands reached Chile's top 10 in four months — three of them rode YesStyle
K-beauty holds 17.9% of brand mentions in Chile, against 7.7% in Mexico and 3.4% in Brazil. Four K-beauty brands sat inside Chile's top 10 in August 2026, and three of them came the same way — Haruharu Wonder at 20.7% of YesStyle-tag posts, EQQUALBERRY at 12.7%, Numbuzin at 7.7%.
The Latin American country where K-beauty has landed deepest is neither Brazil nor Mexico. It is Chile. In August 2026 the highest-placed K-beauty brand within its own country ranked 3rd in Chile, against 21st in Mexico and 14th in Brazil.
As for why now: the rules changed ten months ago. From 25 October 2025 Chile removed the duty-free treatment of purchases under US$41 and applies 19% VAT to every international shipment. In exchange the duty-free threshold rose to US$500, and anything up to US$500 bought on a platform registered with the tax authority has its tax settled at checkout and clears customs without duty(source: Chilean Customs). More than 54 million personal parcels came through Chile's metropolitan customs office in 2024, and over 50 million of them — more than 93% — were declared at US$41 or below. The rule change reaches a long way.
- Chile has the densest K-beauty presence in Latin America. The top 20 K-beauty brands hold 17.9% of brand mentions there, against 7.7% in Mexico and 3.4% in Brazil.
- Most of that buying runs through YesStyle. In August 2026, 1,689 of Chile's 33,553 beauty posts — 5.0% — mention the shop.
- Haruharu Wonder appears in 20.7% of posts carrying a YesStyle tag and EQQUALBERRY in 12.7%. Another 22.7% name no brand at all and simply hand out discount codes.
- EQQUALBERRY went from 6 posts and 144th place in April 2026 to 256 posts and 4th in August. Four months, with no local entity and no distributor in front of it. Chile is a market to test a product in before it is a market to enter.
Chile has Latin America's densest K-beauty presence — five times Brazil's
Line the countries up by how much of their brand mentions the top 20 K-beauty brands account for, and the gap is plain. A taller bar means K-beauty occupies more of that country's beauty conversation.
This sums only the top 20, so each figure is a floor rather than a country's full K-beauty share. Even so, the distance between Chile and the rest is not something that slack closes. If you pick one Latin American market to get an answer from first, it is Chile.
One in twenty Chilean beauty posts mentions YesStyle
Looking at Chilean Instagram for August 2026 through Glowcast (Global Beauty Intelligence, powered by WHOTAG AI), 1,689 of 33,553 beauty posts mention YesStyle. That is one post in twenty, written by 729 accounts. YesStyle is not a cosmetics brand. It is an Asian beauty and fashion shop selling Korean, Japanese, Hong Kong and Taiwanese products, run by the Hong Kong-listed YesAsia Holdings(source: YesAsia Holdings). It does not belong on a brand ranking beside cosmetics labels. Read the number as a measure of how widely the channel is laid down.
Tax, permits and commission all push toward the same shop
Tax comes first. In Chile, international parcels sitting in customs with an unknown tax bill has been a long-running story. Buy up to US$500 on a registered platform and that ends at the checkout screen. Shoppers check this before they check the brand.
Permits come next. Selling or distributing cosmetics in Chile, imported or locally made, requires prior sanitary registration with the public health institute ISP, and without it the product cannot be sold(source: ChileAtiende). Anyone may import, but there has to be a legal representative domiciled in Chile(source: Urban Storage). Cosmetics brought in for personal use, by contrast, pass at up to 5 units per product type. That is the one door through which a product reaches Chilean hands before the brand holds any paperwork.
Money comes last. YesStyle issues each creator a personal code and pays 5% of the sale when a new customer uses the code alone, or 10% when they use the code and click the link. Returning customers are 2% and 4%, and commission can be cashed out from US$20(source: YesStyle). Attribution is last-click and a link drop leaves a 30-day cookie(source: YesStyle). The brand does not pay any of it. Without a seeding budget, creators still have a reason to post the next one.
All eleven top brands on YesStyle tags are Korean
We looked at which brands appear in Chilean posts carrying a YesStyle-family hashtag in August 2026 — not only #yesstyle but every tag with the shop's name in it, including #yesstyleinfluencers, #haruharuxyesstyle and #yesstyleno9.

The top three are Haruharu Wonder at 20.7%, EQQUALBERRY at 12.7% and Numbuzin at 7.7%. Mary & May sits eleventh at 2.0%, level with Cell Fusion C. That order nearly matches the Chilean brand ranking itself: Haruharu Wonder is 3rd in Chile, EQQUALBERRY 4th, Numbuzin 9th.
All eleven are K-beauty. That would be unremarkable on a Korea-only site, but this one sells Japanese and Taiwanese products too. The brands whose names circulate through it in Chile are Korean anyway.
Another 22.7% of posts name no brand. They are videos rounding up August's coupon codes. In Chile the discount code is a content genre of its own.
What the brand in first place did is written into its tags. Haruharu Wonder put #haruharuxyesstyle, a tag joining brand and shop, on 186 of its 275 Chilean posts in August, and adds the shared tags alongside it. EQQUALBERRY put plain #yesstyle on 167 of 256, and Numbuzin uses #yesstyleno9 on 91 of 164. A dedicated tag gathers a brand's own posts in one place; a shared tag catches people who arrived looking at the shop. Use both.
Mary & May reached 7th in Chile through ingredients, not the shop
Of Mary & May's 180 Chilean posts in August, only 15 carry a tag from this shop's family. It holds something else instead. In the same month in Chile, 90.2% of posts tagged #microneedling, 69.0% of those tagged #pdrn and 100% of those tagged #spicule were this brand's. It has the names of the ingredient and the technique more or less to itself.
The catchment is different. A shop tag catches someone already browsing the shop; an ingredient tag catches someone looking for the ingredient. Mary & May took the second one and sits 7th in the Chilean brand ranking, running its own campaign tag #lovemarynmay at 108 mentions alongside. The route does not work with just any ingredient, though — you need a product built on it, and the tag has to still be open.
On 2 August @emmaetlzj introduced EQQUALBERRY's line with the code BARE005ZLGZ, and a week later, on 9 August, wrote the same code under a Haruharu Wonder routine video. The brand changes, the code does not. The sample also holds a post tagging six brands at once to thank the shop for the collaborations. The brands did not find the creator; the shop introduced them.

So the posts do not pile up on a few large accounts. EQQUALBERRY's 256 August posts came from 214 accounts and Haruharu Wonder's 275 from 213. Open the top 12 by response and 11 of EQQUALBERRY's and 8 of Haruharu Wonder's carry the creator's own code.
Breaking into Chile's top 10 brands took four months
What matters is that EQQUALBERRY had 6 posts in April. That is nothing. Four months later: 256 posts, 214 accounts, 4th in the country. Over the same stretch Haruharu Wonder moved from 33rd to 3rd, Numbuzin from 57th to 9th and Mary & May from 12th to 7th. Those four are every K-beauty brand inside Chile's top 10 in August 2026, and all four were outside it in April. Three arrived carrying a YesStyle tag; Mary & May arrived on ingredient tags. The starting lines differed. Four months is not how long success takes — it is how long the answer takes.
Cut the four months into months and you can see why four. EQQUALBERRY had 6 posts and 144th place in April, 37 and 46th in May, 79 and 17th in June. It spent three months getting to 17th — then jumped to 268 posts and 5th in July. Haruharu Wonder is starker still: 52 posts and 33rd in April, 57 and 28th in May, and then a step backwards in June to 32 posts and 53rd. July: 205 posts, 7th.
Anyone reading the third-month number and pulling the plug would have pulled it right before the jump. Some climbs are gentler. Numbuzin went 22, 38, 50, 86 and 164 posts, adding every month. The shapes differ; the time it took to reach the top 10 was the same four months.
What to do this quarter — five steps starting from one SKU
This is not an argument for entering Chile. It is an argument for getting the answer before you decide. The only money that leaves is product and shipping.
- Pick one SKU, not a line — that single product needs a name to attach. Haruharu Wonder's #barriercare at 178 mentions and Mary & May's #pdrn at 127 are that slot. What you are testing is a product, not a brand.
- Settle the code scheme the day you list — commission is the creator's only revenue here, so no code means no content. It is not a line item the brand funds, so there is no reason to defer it. Nor is there only one door: Stylevana ranked 15th in Chile in August with 128 posts and Jolse 24th with 79.
- Put one campaign tag beside the brand tag — Haruharu Wonder's #haruharuxyesstyle at 186 mentions and Numbuzin's #yesstyleno9 at 91 gather scattered posts into one place. Without it there is nothing to count in four months.
- Name the concern in Spanish — EQQUALBERRY picked up #antimanchas for dark spots 75 times, #ojeras for under-eye circles 44 times and #codosobscuros for darkened elbows 24 times. Numbuzin took #antiedad 61 times. English ingredient names do not surface in those searches.
- Write the pass mark down now — look at how many accounts posted and at the brand's rank within the country, not the raw post count. EQQUALBERRY's position after four months was 214 accounts and 4th place. Fall short and change the product or the angle; clear it and the permit and entity file is worth opening.
